Government Expenditures
I would like to point out that this administration was significantly under budget.
I did not take a salary as either President or Vice President and I never appointed anyone to the positions of Sec. of State, Bank Governor or National Sheriff so those funds remain in the national treasury.
Additionally, Julian was paid a 40 T pro-rate share of the 75 T salary for President to represent the 15 days he spent in office before his resignation.

I have served as either Vice-President or President for the last four presidential terms beginning some seven months ago in late-December of 2009. While I have enjoyed playing a leadership role I felt it was time to give others a chance to lead Titulia. I will continue to participate in Titulia albeit as a private citizen during the next administration. I would like to thank a number of great citizens who I had the distinct pleasure of serving with during my tenure. Gerry Brady was the first President I worked with as Vice-President and we enjoyed two successful and productive terms. Followed by another enjoyable experience with Bill Money as President for one term. I also served with Julian however we were just starting to acclimate to each other when he resigned so I regret I did not develop the same relationship with him. Greg Hock has my greatest thanks for stepping in as Liberty House Chief of Staff when I ascended to the Presidency. His counsel has been invaluable. I was also privileged to have another chance to serve with Bill Money this time with him as Attorney General during Julian's term. Secretary of Culuture Alex Pijanowski has also done an exemplary job and I hope to see him remain active. While they are not part of the Executive Branch I have had dealings with the General Court and have been impressed with the work of Chief Justice Colonel, Associate Justices Brady and Biggs and the outstanding Clerk MC Daddy D. I thank all of these men for their friendship and their outstanding contributions to Titulia. We are a better nation because of each of you and all that you do. NOW THEREFORE , I, REFORMER, President of the Republic of Titulia, do hereby proclaim the 5th day of July 2010 to be a National Day of Mourning in tribute to Mr. Garry “Starchild” Shider and urge al Comments: 8 Jun 30, 2010 - 22:23 AppointmentI have appointed John Calvin to serve on the Executive Board of the Titulia Hall of Fame. On behalf of the republic I think Mr. Calvin for his willingness to serve. Comments: 5 Jun 27, 2010 - 16:56 UpdateFellow Citizens, I have appointed former President Greg Hock as my Liberty House Chief of Staff. President Hock will be a great asset to me in the short time left in the current term because of his experience in Liberty House. Additionally, President Hock will be providing his services at no cost to the government. I would like to also point out I have cut expenditures since taking office. Because the positions of National Sheriff, Bank Governor, Secretary of State and Vice-President will remain unfilled for the remainder of this term no salaries will be paid. Funds already approved in the budget will remain in the treasury. My top priority for the remainder of this term is to move forward the Legislature Plan. The committee has had one meeting thus far and I will be discussing with the author of the plan, Codex, to receive clarification on some of his original points then scheduling another commission meeting for this week. I will post the date and time as soon as it is scheduled. Time is truly of the essence over the next 10 days until an election is called so I will be focused intently on a few smaller items instead of getting little to nothing done on a much larger list. Reformer Comments: 3 Jun 25, 2010 - 21:56 Oath of Office and Additional AnnouncementsFellow Titulians, The ADMIN has informed me that President Julian has submitted his resignation and under Titulian law I have ascended to the office of President. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court will administer the oath of office at 10:00 PM EDT in the Liberty House ballroom. All citizens are invited to attend. As this presidential term is already more than half over and very little has been accomplished because of the impeachment episode there is no time to waste. I would like to announce now that my charge as Vice-President to lead the Legislature Committee will continue to be my top priority. As of yet no member of the LRP has accepted my request to serve so if any members are willing please let me know ASAP as I would like representation from the party on the committee. I hope to have our second committee meeting next week. As always all citizens are welcome to attend the meetings. Additionally, I will not be nominating any citizens for the offices of National Sheriff, Bank Governor or Secretary of State. I will also not be holding formal "Questions Time" however all citizens are welcome to contact me via Titulia mail anytime with questions or if additional dialogue is needed I will be happy to meet at Liberty House for instant messaging conversations. There have been many squabbles over the past few months but I urge everyone to come together now and work towards building Titulia. I believe we all are here for more than an opportunity to feud with each other. I have no doubt the ideals of Titulia are alive in each of us and I know together we will achieve great things. Reformer Comments: 1 Jun 24, 2010 - 22:50 Titulia first, not Titles and "Mandates"Friends, I appreciate the spiritedness of these arguments however I'm not concerned about what my title will be if Julian ceases to be President for whatever reason. Additionally, I want it to be clear that the "mandate" in the election was not for the individuals on the ticket but instead the ideals behind them. We are at a very crucial point in our history and it's time to make some progress towards fixing the issues facing this nation. There is a scant 2 weeks left before an election is called and I have no desire to simply waste that time when we could be making steps towards implementing the items already approved by the citizenry (ie the legislature). Every day this drags on is another day of lost progress. If I am called on to serve I won't be wasting any time focusing on titles; I'll be way too busy focusing on Titulia. Comments: 4 Jun 21, 2010 - 23:07 My Response to Former President Hock's QuestionGreg, I appreciate your interest in my thoughts related to his matter. I agree with your statement that it has been appropriate for me to remain silent thus far. I have refrained from voting in both propositions and I will continue to do so. I am in a very delicate position at present. I can either speak out against the President and appear like Brutus stabbing Julius Ceasar or I can deny there are any problems and appear like John McCain when during the 2008 Presidential campaign he stated that the fundamentals of the US economy were strong while the financial markets were collapsing around him. Neither is an envious position. I have no desire to seize power. If I had desired the Presidency I would have run for President. As you and many others surely remember it was I who called the election and nominated Julian so if anyone can honestly state they supported Julian in this past election it is I. That being said I am also a realist. At this point my fear is the situation has blown up to such a degree that it is going to be next to impossible to get anything accomplished in the current climate. There are many issues that are very important to the survival of Titulia and an impeachment battle being waged at the same time is very distracting. Formation of the legislature is first and foremost on my agenda as VP and I intend to do all I can to see that achieved regardless of what my title happens to be. If the proposition passes or if Julian chooses to resign I will do my duty and assume the Presidency. If the proposition fails I will continue the work I was elected to do as Vice-President working with all parties and the President. As many of you know I am a southerner. The great Virginian and Civil War General Robert E. Lee had a saying that I have always found very apt for anyone in a difficult position. It was: "Do your duty in all things; You can never do more and you should never wish to do less.". Comments: 5 |
