The LRC's work update
Thank you,
Currently, Government-related propositions have a defined time they are open for voting (i.e., confirmation nomination is open for 5 days).
To keep citizen's focused only on recent propositions, it is proposed that:
All normal (Non-government defined) propositions be open for voting for ten (10) days.
Should the proposition reach 20 votes, with the majority in affirmative, then it proceeds to substantive, as is currently the case.
Original Proposition created by Gregory Hock
And whereas the General Court Reform Act currently states in Section 4:
"Further, once an individual has served five presidential terms and had at least one presidential term off the bench, that individual is eligible for nomination to the court again."
It is proposed that this language be stricken and replaced with:
"Further, once an individual has served five presidential terms, that individual is eligible for nomination to return to the bench without delay upon the completion of the individual's previous term."
The passage of this proposition will eliminate the waiting period of one presidential term before a justice can be renominated to the General Court. Once a justice has served the maximum length of five presidential terms, the justice is eligible to be renominated to the bench immediately by the sitting president.
To the attendees and parties involved in the law reform commission that met last in the courthouse. A full and frank discussion was had on many areas of reform in our prop system and beyond and many useful agreements and conclusions were reached.
This commissions work was one of the main aims of my administration and between the forum and the live meeting i am more than pleased we will have useful and far reaching results. Some changes were agreed between the parties which will be put to the people in the coming days.
The following announcements can be made post haste as two laws have already passed at substantive phase and i have asked the courts clerk to add them to our codex of laws.
The adopted laws are as follows:
1)Proposition Voting Time Period

This law dates form Dec 2009 and has as yet remained unenforced as it remained unsubmitted i will now ensure that this law is enforced on every proposition as of the date 9 febuary 2010

3) The following prop has been sent to Admin as a change request,
Currently the average pricing on one piece of Real Estate in the Titulia City is in the region of 500 T.
To make land purchase more easily accesible to all citizens, encourage demand in the Real estate market, and encourage development of the city, this Proposition moves that admin lower the average sale price of real estate in Titulia city from 500 T to between around 150 T.

We await the admins response on the issue.

James,
This act despite your problem with it passed by a vote of the people James, it is my job to submit the laws passed by the peoples will to the clerk of courts or admin I have no choice in that matter, it is my duty and it was not submitted because it passed only two days ago and i have been busy with the LRC and overseeing Government buildings.
The AGs office was contacted at the time to review it on your behalf, if you wish to follow up on that take your issue to the AGs office I have relayed your concerns previously, or challenge the acts leglity in the courts as it is now law if you fell that is necessary. I am doing my duty of carrying out the peoples will as layed out through the Proposition Reform Act which is also law, nothing else and as such just because you being one citizen do not like the bill i cannot and will not circumvent the laws of this state to pander to your whims.
Gerry
The reason #2 wasn't submitted was due to the issue of legislative conflict and succession. The advice you provided at the time Gerry was that you contacted the Attorney General regarding it. As of yet no news has been given about an update.
