New Official - Moderator

Although there was little need for it in the past in Titulia, sooner or later all websites need a moderator.

A new official function, the Moderator was created today.

The Moderator can be appointed by the President. The Moderator is able to delete any posts in the forums and under propositions / polls. Instead of the deleted post, citizens will see the statement "Deleted by Moderator XY".

It is up to the people of Titulia to define the rules the Moderator needs to follow, or if there is a need for a Moderator at all.

Of course, the Administrator reserves the right to delete posts themselves that are deemed to violate the Terms & Consitions.

I encourage everyone to go and vote for the abolition of this position.
Good man Gerry.  Happy Easter if you celebrate it. No disrespect to your faith if you don't.
I am out of town until tomorrow for a family function so there will be some delay in responses but I want it to be clear there is absolutely not a hope in hell this will be appointed while I am in office.

Codex finally came to save us.  I'm actually not being sarcastic .. he's the only Linardist that has spoken in depth about social liberty and made sense.

No one outside of DD and Greg's gang really cares what the motives are .. we all agree on this.  Sooner or later there will be a President they hate with every fibre in their body and to open the door to this position now would be seen as political (without success) only to try to close it later.

Titulia started out with Admin as the enforcer .. then we added a Court .. followed by an Attorney General .. then the presidency itself got heavy handed .. mow a moderator?  Where did all the talk of freedom and liberty go?

Ahh yes I forgot .. that depends on who the Linardists approve of (i.e. get cozy with) in Liberty House.

I'm always in favour of free speech, so I'm against using this facility.
Jason Ragan has started a topic in the Titulian Politics forum on this matter. I would invite everyone to take part in that debate.
I agree Greg. This is something we don't need. And I think it's time to revisit the idea of eliminating the ability to ban anyone from commenting. Norton and his clonies have abused it, by preempting any honest debate or challenges to their bullshit.
Hey Tom- You seem to be a good moderator at blocking people on your own blog. Why are you against this? Oh that's right, that would be treating everyone equally with the same standards. I'm actually against this...I want everyone to be able to speak freely...I can skim and skip Tom Matthews 20 paragraphs of unfocused rants and hatred myself.
I'm sure Dr. M has legitimate legal concerns about this, but we all know why Norton is against this. He wants to be able to spread his poison unchecked.
I was expecting to be the silent voice on this .. but for the first time in history I'm behind Dr M 100%.  This is THE Pandora's Box of Titulia that cannot be opened.
Oh dear god. I don’t want any government using this function. This is going to lead to a box we don’t want to open.
