Description:

The Department of Citizen Services manages and fosters initiatives for the promotion of citizen and government programs to better link all aspects of republic life.

Citizen Services Activities Grants

Four Citizen Services Activities Grants will be awarded to entrepreneurs with the best proposals for bringing new, entertaining activities to Titulia. While this is envisioned as an ongoing program to be continued by future administrations, initially the department will award up to four activities grants during this presidential term.

Each recipient business will receive a piece of property in Titulia City on which to locate the business, as well as T$1,000 in seed capital. The activities grants are not grants in the traditional sense because the recipients will be expected to repay the government if their businesses succeed. (The benchmarks for when repayment will be due are still being finalized at the time of this writing.)

The government will retain ownership of the properties until the recipient fully repays the purchase price of T$500.

The seed capital will be transferred to the bank account of the recipient businesses’ Bank of Titulia accounts. The recipients will not be allowed to use any of the seed capital to pay themselves, or any other businesses or entities they own, for time spent and/or services rendered in the development of the recipient businesses.

At the time of this announcement, a custom poll tracking new activities citizens would like to see in Titulia showed there is significant interest in a cinema (Films/TV), a poker parlor, and a chess club. There is also interest in a bowling alley, a game arcade, and concerts. You can see the full poll results here.

Interested parties should bear the following in mind when preparing their proposals:

• The activities should be multi-user, where applicable.
• The activities should be embeddable in an external website.

The department of Citizen Services will provide technical assistance to applicants who need it.

Applicants should submit their questions and proposals regarding the activities grants to me via Titulia mail here. Deadline for submissions for this presidential term is Jan. 1, 2010. Recipient businesses, if any, will be announced on Jan. 4.

Thank you.
