LRP abandons post

by Delacruz

The President of the Liberal Republican Party has resigned
from the Presidents Council. Seeing as they choose not to
work with the Republic I will not be responding to any more
correspondence sent to me from the LRP. If they want to act
as lone wolves then so be it. Below is the official communication
between myself and Mr. Ambrose.

Delacruz
President
Republic of Titulia

But if your party wishes to be left out then it will be so. I have a hard time believing that this came as news to you considering that it was a campaign promise that I would appoint all the founded party presidents to the Presidents council in order for all to have an equal voice in this transition. Multiple times I have extended the olive branch even after our disputes and multiple times the LRP has displayed outlandish and immature behavior so this doesnt really come as a surprise.

Delacruz
President
Republic of Titulia

Dear Mr Delacruz

It came to my attention today that you appointed me to your council. This is news to me as I received no communication from you soliciting my appointment or interest. This has caused a lot of concern within the LRP and I have gone ahead and resigned the position.

I will not tell you how to run your government, sir. I will assert however that given your attacks on my Party, I cannot in good conscience accept the position. The LRP has protested to my holding the position and I support their wishes.

Regards

Reg Ambrose
President
Liberal Republican Party

I've also checked the voting record, to see if my name somehow ended up there, despite my not having voted - as you had stated (also implying that I was lying about not having voted). It is not there, unsurprisingly. Are you even capable of knowing the truth anymore Tom?

Codex said

Actually Tom, towards the end of the campaign I said 'I wasn't going to vote in this election but...'. As it happens, I chose to stick to my original stance and not vote for either candidate. Not that I would expect such facts to get in the way of your 'spinning' lol

Nice try Codex but I remember words to the effect of "oh I wasn't going to get involved in this election BUT.." comment you left. You might also want to check with Admin if you have some security issue because your name was listed as one who voted.

Cheers ;-o)

No Tom, that's how your 'side' are spinning it. You do understand the difference don't you? Nobody has said that, apart from LRP memebers. Martyr mode does seem to be the default setting for the LRP, after all. (lol) Feel free to throw tantrums from the sidelines all you want. Nobody is stopping you. As for 'sides', I am a member of no political party and voted for neither candidate at the last election. The LRP really needs to ditch it's 'us and them' mindset.

The issue with your take Codex is what's causing the issues. Your side is saying if the LRP don't get a seat on the President's Council - they have no say in the site.

Well .. you've got a real problem there because there's a nagging little document called the constitution. Any citizen, regardless of political affiliation, can approach Admin anytime .. anywhere .. about anything.

Titulia is fully aware of your inherent love for Dennis' meritocracy agenda and you have some support for it. It's worth mentioning however that before you get in over your head - not all on your side of politics support political exclusion. If you are that genuine to enforce this will over the people, table a proposition in that regard and let's find out who's right and who's wrong. ;-o)

I'm just wondering what a 'vein attempt' is. Are you suggesting that our new President suffers from vampirism? ;) On a more serious note, the council is a body that was set up for discussion and consultation, re' the transition to the new website and liaising with Admin' re' such matters. It has nothing to do with the day to day running of the government. All of this was made abundantly clear during the election campaign. Perhaps if the LRP had been paying attention, they would have noticed. Everyone else did. I find it surprising that even their VP nominee didn't know anything about this, as he had commented encouragingly, on the idea, when it was announced. Perhaps it just 'slipped' his mind? Perhaps the LRP don't want any direct input into the new site? Or perhaps they are just going into victim mode again? They are ' the oppressed opposition' after all (lol). Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Titulia is a direct democracy and citizens don't need government positions in order to participate. The president went ahead and appointed a rep without consulting with the party. It left us with little choice but to turn down a position we knew nothing about. The decision has nothing to do with what Reg wanted it was about what the party wanted.

The LRP was attacked by the president after it learned the supposed "olive branch" was a vein attempt to gain our votes and he turned against us when he found out we weren't going to support him. Campaign promises aren't official offers of positions. It's sad that the president now wants to abuse the inclusive trust of his office by ignoring citizens out of spite for refusing a position we knew nothing about. It isn't a surprise from this government.

Unfortunate the LRP feel the need to continually turn down or resign from government posts and then complain they are left out. I dont think it would have been to much of an imposition on Mr Ambrose to represent his constituents. On the other hand not wholly unexpected. Hopefully all the other parties will be able to make suggestions and work with Admin to move on with transition to the new site.
